Now that Bookshare is building a sizable collection of her books, I've been reading all of them I can get my hands on. Her books have similar subject matter to Cathy Glass's, but there's something friendlier about her writing style that I really like. Not that Cathy is clinical by any means, I'm not saying that at all. I do think that Casey draws you into her family life as well as telling the often tragic stories of the kids she fosters, though, and that's where her strength lies. I personally feel that Cathy Glass is writing in a style more suited to be read by professionals, a "how-to" if you will, while Casey takes into account that a wider audience might be reading her books.

Having said all that, when reading both authors' works, what really matters when you're not nit picking, as I am now, are the stories of the children who come into foster care. And those are always fascinating, no matter who's writing them. Disturbing, too, but at least the horrors they've endured are out in the open, and hopefully exposed to people who might otherwise not have ever known the aftermath of such heavy subjects as sexual abuse, mental illness, and neglect and abandonment.

Both authors write about their experience fostering foster children.
Funny enough, Kathy Glass' inspiration from , Casey Watson. I do agree though, Casey is more personal, you feel like you are part of her family, or part of her even. Kathy Glass is more reading it as her story, or her foster's child story. I guess it is just two different style addressing the same issue. In actual fact, i would have think that Casey Watson is more of a professional foster carer and a professional social worker compare to Kathy Glass. Just the feeling i have from the way CW describe things, but i could be wrong.
Both of them are good writers, and i like both of their books very much. If i got to pick between them, Casey Watson will be the winner. I've read all of her books, but not so much of her short stories. Just bought the latest book from her, talking about a eight year old girl that have low self esteem from the way she looked etc.

Ya I like both authers in a way its nice that Casey has a husband to help. He kind of gives some of the boys who'm they've taken in to have a good role moddle . and he can have just enought camand in his voice to help out too. And her son Kernon is cool too.
